Clinical Supervision for Associate Counselors in Arizona
Supportive, collaborative supervision to help you strengthen your clinical skills, confidence, and voice as a therapist.
Supervision is more than reviewing hours and paperwork. It should be a space where you can think out loud, ask questions, work through clinical nuance, and continue developing into the therapist you want to become.
You may be looking for support with:
Building confidence in your clinical decision-making
Strengthening documentation and clinical language
Thinking more deeply about case conceptualization
Navigating diagnosis, treatment planning, or ethical questions
Developing a stronger trauma-informed lens
Working through the uncertainty that often comes with being a newer therapist
Finding your own clinical style rather than trying to do therapy the “right” way
My Approach to Supervision
My supervision style is collaborative, curious, and growth-oriented. I want you to have space to bring questions, uncertainty, and the moments when you genuinely aren't sure what to do next.
We’ll look at the clinical work together—not only what intervention to use, but what may be happening underneath the presenting concern, how you’re conceptualizing the case, and what the client may need from you in that moment.
I also value practical teaching. Supervision may include reviewing documentation, strengthening treatment planning, talking through ethical considerations, exploring trauma-informed and nervous system-based perspectives, and building skills you can actually take back into the therapy room.
You won’t be expected to already know everything. The goal is to help you become more confident in your own clinical thinking, judgment, and professional voice.
Areas We May Focus On
Trauma-informed case conceptualization
Documentation and clinical wording
Diagnosis and treatment planning
Ethical decision-making
EMDR-informed case conceptualization and treatment planning
Nervous system and body-based perspectives
Clinical intervention planning
Counselor identity and professional development
Burnout, boundaries, and sustainability in clinical work
How Contracted Supervision Works
I provide clinical supervision to associate counselors working toward independent licensure in Arizona.
When I am not employed by the same organization as the supervisee, supervision is provided through a contracted relationship with the supervisee’s employer or practice. This allows for the communication, clinical oversight, and access needed for me to appropriately supervise the work being completed within that organization.
If you are an associate counselor whose workplace does not currently have an approved clinical supervisor available, you are welcome to share my information with your employer. I’m happy to speak directly with the organization about whether a contracted supervision arrangement would be a good fit.
Arizona’s Board of Behavioral Health Examiners provides guidance for outside contracted supervision arrangements, and supervision is structured in accordance with applicable AZBBHE requirements.

Find Your Voice as a Therapist
You don’t need supervision that simply tells you what to do.
My goal is to help you understand why you’re making the clinical decisions you’re making, trust your developing instincts, and continue building the skills to practice with confidence and intention.
If you’re an associate counselor—or an Arizona behavioral health organization looking for contracted clinical supervision—I’d be happy to connect.
